The Perez Process

Perez Design Build Remodel combines the design and construction aspects of remodeling into one continuous process.  Design/Build takes care of the entire project from the creation of the design concept to completion of the construction work.

The efficiency of this process allows for tight control of design and construction costs, complete management of the construction schedule, and a quick turnaround between the design, construction, and completion phases.

Our design team at Perez enables families to make a house a home they have always dreamed of having.  Working together, the design team helps
coordinate the flow and feel of our client’s remodeling projects.  The members of the production team are highly efficient masters of their trade.  The selection coordinator suggests products that work with the client’s vision.  With so many design options and product choices, it is invaluable to have someone knowledgeable guiding you through the process.

Our design and construction process consists of the following steps:

At the initial consultation, we:

  • Listen to your needs and wishes
  • Put ideas into words
  • Study house plans and surveys as needed
  • Review the feasibility of the project or renovation
  • Consider budget criteria
In the design stage, we:
  • Problem solve
  • Measure the existing house structure
  • Perform an initial check of mechanical/structural systems
  • Draw existing  house plans
  • Check zoning setbacks
  • Create preliminary floor plans/elevations
  • Review and update pricing
  • Attend ongoing design review meetings
  • Approve conceptual drawings
  • Help clients select flooring, appliances, cabinets, and other items
  • Prepare a work scope and specifications
  • Present final drawings and pricing
  • Prepare to start construction!
In the construction stage, we:
  • Prepare construction documents
  • Obtain building permits
  • Assign a lead carpenter to your project
  • Hold a pre-construction meeting
  • Prepare the site for construction
  • Begin your remodeling project
  • Hold weekly meetings with clients on site
At completion, we:
  • Conduct a walk-through of the completed project
  • Create a final to-do list
  • Begin the 2-year warranty on labor
  • Schedule a walk-through to take place in 6 months after completion
