1. Some companies carry Compensation Insurance on
1 or 2 members of their crew and pay the rest cash leaving you open to lawsuits - Do not be afraid to ask. Any legitimate
contractor will be happy to show you that you are covered.
2. Be sure the roof is being installed as per manufacturers
specifications. Using the improper underlayment, having inadequate ventilation, or using an improper nailing pattern
will negate your manufacturers warranty. Be sure your installer has factory training to ensure a properly warranted
system.
3. Do not be lured in by a cheap price. Roof pricing should be relatively consistent
when dealing with reputable contractors. A slight difference may be in some of the finer details of the installation,
such as flashing, leak barriers, etc. If you get a price that is much lower than the rest, be careful and ask many questions.
Remember: The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a cheap price is forgotten.
